Friends,
Please be praying for Todd and Renae as they lead our Walking On Water Mission Trip in Chile right now through Jan. 13th.
Below are a few photos of the team and a update with prayer requests especially for the Walking On Water movie night outreaches Weds. and Thursday of this week. I wish I could be there with the team, but it is so encouraging to see what God is doing through Todd and Renae as our Missions Directors!

Thank you for your prayers!

God bless you today,

Bryan J.

CHILE MISSION TRIP UPDATE FROM THE FIELD:

Hope all is going well! Just wanted to give you a little Chile update.
Everything is going great so far and the team is AWESOME!!!! A few people are sick so please be praying that they would feel better and more energized soon.
It has been so encouraging to team up with the YWAM crew over here in Pichilemu! It is amazing to see how the Lord is using this base to impact the community around them and share God’s love with the people here! The YWAM base is truly a part of the community here and it is just so neat to see how much the people respect Mitch and the other YWAM students. Mitch has done an amazing job at creating relationships with the locals- where, even if they are not believers they are accepting of the mission and message of the base. It is funny, we were walking to go surf the other day and Todd had to use the restroom but didn’t have any money with him (if you are in town you have to pay to use the bathroom)… There were two guys in charge of the restroom. He told them that he didn’t have any money and one of the guys didn’t care and just said “no” but then his friend Chimed in and said, “no, let him use it. They are good people” – It was just neat to see that the people in town really respect the people from the YWAM base… and that view seems to be pretty wide-spread with whomever we run into.
As far as ministry projects go,
We helped put on their surf contest at Punta De Lobos on Saturday. Some of the guys helped with the judging, other’s with signing people up and getting individuals ready for their heats, I took pictures, and we handed out some flyers with the YWAM base info on it so that people could get plugged into their summer programs- some of the guys on our team also surfed in the contest ! We got started a little later than we planned, but eventually, A LOT of people showed up to watch. Other than that we have been helping with odd jobs around the base, building walls, putting up fences, painting signs for with scripture on them for the base, painting the bathroom, etc. and last night we went to hand out flyers for our movie nights on Wed and Thursday! PLease be praying for our upcoming movie nights (Wed and Thurs). Everyone we gave flyers to seemed to be stoked about it so please pray that the Lord would use these events to open their hearts to His message of grace and Love…. and on top of all that we have somehow even found time to surf here and there! :)

We want to thank you for your support of Walking On Water in 2009! This ministry would not be possible without your prayers, volunteer support, and financial support!

Please take five minutes to watch this very encouraging Walking On Water 2009 Praise Report!

For the past thirteen years God has provided for the Walking On Water ministry mostly through individual financial supporters. We would like to thank each of you for your generous support over the years! It is very encouraging to look back and see all that God accomplished in 2009 through the Walking On Water ministry even during a difficult time in our nation’s economy. Over 100,000 people have been in live attendance during the Walking On Water Film World Tour, the film is now subtitled in sixteen languages, outreaches have been held in almost every major surfing nation, our 2009 surf camps went better than ever, and our short term mission trips have been very effective. The lives impacted with the Gospel in 2009 would not have been possible without your prayer and financial support! Will you please prayerfully consider your continued support of Walking On Water in your end of the year giving? If you haven’t already, will you also please prayerfully consider becoming a monthly financial supporter of Walking On Water? Our hope is for thirty additional individuals to commit to being monthly financial supporters because monthly financial support really helps us as we plan for 2010. Our ministry plans for 2010 include the production of the Promised Land film in Israel, the continued world tour of the Walking On Water film, short term mission trips, weekly Bible study, surf camps, and other outreach events. With your help and support we will have a far reaching impact on the youth of today, who will become the messengers of tomorrow. Thank you again for your much needed and much appreciated prayer, financial, and volunteer support!

You can make your end of the year donate online HERE.

Thank you and Merry Christmas!

It has always surprised me over the years to see how God would only need one willing person in a city to make a outreach event happen. Some of our most successful outreach events were hosted by individuals who had never organized an event before. God is able to do the impossible! Please watch this video and pray about hosting a outreach in your city!

For the past month, Walking On Water missionary Toshiro Oyama has been doing an amazing job screening our latest film titled Walking On Water in South Korea and also in Japan. The film is currently translated into 16 languages including Japanese and Korean. A W.O.W. team joined Toshi as they visited the Japan Sea for the first time. While there they screened the movie in a town called Hachohama in Amino. Toshiro introduced our team to a great guy by the name of Moriyama. Moriyama is the Japanese Director of the Surfrider foundation in Japan and is very well respected and connected within the surf community. The Japanese audience really enjoyed the movie and seeds were planted in their little beach community. We were also able to make plans and preparations for a future visit to the area where there will be opportunity to come along and help reach the surfers of Japan on a future mission trip.

W.O.W. World Tour Continues in France, Spain, & Portugal

We are on the airplane flying home from the Walking On Water outreach tour in France and Spain. I noticed that the guy sitting in front of us was watching a surfing film and as I looked closer I was amazed to see that it was one of our past films titled “The Outsiders”. As we talked I remembered meeting him at our screening/outreach in San Sebastian, Spain. God’s divine appointments are so incredible! The four W.O.W. movie screenings could not have been more blessed. When people in Spain and France hear of Christianity they immediately think of all the terrible things done in the past in their countries in the name of religion. Southwest France and Spain are very un-reached with the Gospel and approximately 100 Basque-speaking evangelical Christians out of nearly 1 million Basque speakers. God really used the unconventional tool of the W.O.W. surf movie being shown in their local bar/restaurants as a great opportunity for the Gospel message to be proclaimed. We realized that the movie and message were both received very well by the applause and meaningful conversations following the movie. The locals in the Basque country of Spain were impressed when they realized the W.O.W. movie had been translated into their language especially because no other surf film has been translated into their language (Besides “The Outsiders”). Our goals to share the Gospel, encourage the missionary couples/local churches, and to strengthen long-term friendships were definitely accomplished with God’s help. We were very blessed to partner with Christian Surfers France/Spain/Portugual and would like to thank Buck and Donna Waters, Chris and Megan Probasco, Joseba and Joanna Attard, Shane And Ruth Sparks, Derek Erwin, Ian, the Parenty Family, and also the Brethren church in Gijon.

Please be praying for the upcoming W.O.W. world tour outreaches in Peniche, Portugual on Oct. 24th, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on Oct. 28th, and Lima, Peru in December.
